Tim's (The Boss) Chevelle
From grannies ole grocery getter to Tim's DREAM CAR
Tim acquired this 1970 Chevelle Malibu about a year ago and surprisingly to everyone here at Obsolete Chevrolet he has made great progress.
The project started out as a 1970 Chevelle Malibu with an old six banger and no extras what so ever , no radio ,no a/c I'm not even sure it had a heater.
Tim's dream is to turn it into a high performance weekend cruiser
If all goes well hopefully by the end of the year or early next year It'll be transformed into a cloned SS 502/502
Here are a few pictures before the restoration got underway

THE BODY
FIRST WE NEED TO GET THIS PROJECT DISASSEMBLED AND I MEAN DISASSEMBLED
The Frame
The 6 cylinder
Now that we got it in 1000 pieces we can really get things rolling
First the frame is sand blasted and powder coated along with anything else that could possibly be powder coated
see what I meant by everything control arms , brake hubs , bumper brackets , cross member , springs , grille braces , etc...................
The body is taken to the body shop to be soda blasted
While the body is being soda blasted the frame with the engine temporarily in place is taken to the shop to have the exhaust system installed
Now its time to set the 502 hp engine and transmission in place
That's where the project stands for now , check back to see the progress
Well its been a slow go on the body but they have the major body work done and hopefully soon will be ready to spray the project
Here are the most recent pictures
Still moving along at a rather slow pace
We were hoping to be cruising by now but then you never get done when you planed too
Here are a few pictures of the final priming
That takes care of the priming now we are more than ready to head to the paint room
If all these crazy drivers around town would be a little more careful and stay out of accidents our body man wouldn't have to keep putting the project on the back burner
Things seem to be getting close now we are getting some time in the paint room
And hopefully before long the body will be done and Tim can start to reassemble this project and things will start looking up
Here are the pictures of the first of the paint job
Hopefully we will be able to add pictures of the completed body soon
We finally got a slot to get in the paint room and all the body work and paiting is completed
Now Tim will take the body back home and start to reassemble his Dream car
He is going to take pictures step by step so hopefully this page will be updated on a regular basis
With all the body work and painting finished its time to move the body back to Tim's shop
Many THANKS to the guys at Southern Body Works here in Nashville Ga. for the quality body work and paint job on Tim's DREAM CAR
With the body back home now its time to mate the body back to the frame
With body back on the frame now all the reassembly can get started
If your project starts to get a little over budget you can always get it back on track by using child labor , as you can see in the last photo
